Profile
Falcon Yachts is an Italian builder of motor yachts based in the Navicelli district of Pisa, Tuscany. The Falcon name goes back to the late 1980s, when the sister company Cantieri Navali Falcon began building fibreglass motor yachts in Viareggio. After a pause in production, the brand was relaunched at a new yard in Pisa with a different focus: displacement yachts in steel and aluminium, from around 30 to 50 metres. The current range is presented as the Full Displacement line, with 38MT, 45MT and 50MT models. The flagship is the 50-metre F50, a semi-custom design with a 499 GT interior volume, six staterooms for up to 12 guests and a beach club of more than 300 square metres. A 45-metre displacement yacht was announced in 2024 as under construction in Pisa. Its website displays an ISO 9001 logo and a Made in Italy certificate. Its location on the Navicelli Canal gives boats a direct route to the Port of Livorno and the Mediterranean, while Pisa airport and the A11 motorway are close by. For a reader following Italian superyacht building, Falcon is a yard that is restarting rather than continuing: its newest steel and aluminium line is still being proven.
Origins
The Falcon name began with Cantieri Navali Falcon, which built fibreglass motor yachts in Viareggio from the late 1980s, and a sister company, Falcon Yachts, that handled larger boats. Production then paused. In 2024 the brand was relaunched from a yard in the Navicelli district of Pisa with a new line of displacement yachts in steel and aluminium. The first of these, a 45-metre yacht, was announced as under construction in 2024, and the 50-metre F50 was presented as the new flagship.
Build philosophy
The Pisa yard is designed for steel and aluminium construction. The site covers 8,000 square metres, of which 3,500 are outdoors, and includes a hangar 13 metres high and a fitting and finishing area of 4,500 square metres. Boats are launched into the Navicelli Canal, which leads to the sea. The Falcon range is built as full displacement hulls, a type that moves through the water rather than planing over it, which usually favours range and comfort at cruising speed over top speed. On the F50, the exterior was drawn by Italian designer Horacio Bozzo, and engineering comes from Axis Group Yacht Design. The 50-metre yacht carries a tender garage on the foredeck sized for a 7-metre tender, jet skis and a rescue boat, and the owner's suite sits on the main deck with the VIP cabin on the upper deck.
Ownership profile
Falcon's current range suits owners looking for a 38 to 50-metre cruising yacht with generous outdoor space, a large beach club and a main-deck owner's suite. The F50 is positioned as a semi-custom superyacht for families and guests, with room for six staterooms. Because the steel and aluminium line is new, it fits buyers who want to be involved in a build at an early stage of a relaunched Italian yard.
