Profile
RMK Yachts is the yacht brand of RMK Marine, a Turkish shipbuilder owned by Koç Holding, the country's largest industrial group. The yard was founded in 1974 on the Golden Horn in Istanbul, moved to Tuzla in 1984 and joined Koç in 1997. Besides yachts, RMK Marine builds commercial and naval ships, and that heavy-engineering background shows in its yacht work. Its delivered fleet spans both power and sail. Motor yachts include the 37-metre Jasmin, Private Lives, Caressa K and Seven Seas, and the 45-metre Karia. On the sailing side it built the 52-metre Nazenin V to a Sparkman & Stephens design, plus the 38-metre Twilight and the 30-metre Sarafin and Penelope. Two larger motor yachts are now in build: the 65-metre ice-class explorer Solas Mór and the 58-metre Orca. The brand also sells three model families: the Arcane line of 55-metre explorers, the 52-metre Livia and the 49.9-metre Petra explorer. The yard is now growing its yacht side. A new 70,000-square-metre site in Yalova will be used only for yachts, while Tuzla keeps commercial and defence work. RMK also restores classic boats; in 2026 it relaunched the 38-metre steam yacht Cangarda, built in 1901, for the Rahmi M. Koç Museum.
Origins
The yard opened in 1974 on the Golden Horn and moved to Tuzla, on Istanbul's Asian shore, in 1984. Koç Holding took it over in 1997. Its first wave of superyachts came in the 2000s with 37-metre motor yachts such as Jasmin and Caressa K, followed by the 52-metre sailing yacht Nazenin V and several 30 to 45-metre builds up to 2014. After a quieter spell, the 37-metre Seven Seas followed in 2023. In 2026 RMK started building a yacht-only yard in Yalova and opened an office in Miami.

Build philosophy
RMK builds displacement motor yachts, typically with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. The steel hull gives strength and range, while the lighter aluminium upper decks help keep the yacht stable. Seven Seas, Orca and the 65-metre Solas Mór all follow this pattern. Solas Mór is built to Lloyd's Register Ice Class PC6 and the IMO Polar Code, with hybrid propulsion and a helipad, so it can operate in polar waters. The yard also works in all-aluminium and composite construction. Nazenin V has an aluminium hull and superstructure, and for the sailing yacht Sarafin RMK carried out a single resin infusion of about 6.3 tonnes. Its newer model lines are under 500 GT explorer and contemporary designs of about 50 to 55 metres, with IPS pod drives and optional hybrid systems. RMK works with outside studios on design, including Vripack, ER Yacht Design, Espen Oeino, Hot Lab and Red Yacht Design, with naval architecture by Van Oossanen on the new series. In-house teams handle lofting, joinery, mechanical, electrical, rigging and paint work.
Ownership profile
RMK suits owners who want a steel and aluminium motor yacht of about 35 to 65 metres from a large industrial shipbuilder, often with long range for expedition cruising. Its sub-500 GT series give buyers a proven platform to customise, while the custom side covers ice-class explorers, sailing yachts and classic restorations.
