Profile
Overview
Baglietto traces its history to 1854, which makes it one of the oldest names in Italian yachting. Today the company, Baglietto S.p.A., builds large motor yachts from its registered office and yard in La Spezia, with a second yard in Carrara that serves as its operational headquarters. Its current range is organised in a few named lines. The DOM series covers steel-and-aluminium yachts of about 35 m and up, the T-Line brings the yard into the 50 to 60 m class, and the FAST range uses aluminium for faster hulls of around 50 m. Its flagship T60 is a 60 m yacht of around 1,000 GT, and the yard has announced two model premieres for the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show. Diego Michele Deprati has been chief executive since 2012. In 2020 he led the merger of Cerri Cantieri Navali into Baglietto. Baglietto promotes its work as built in Italy, and the La Spezia site is large enough to host several yachts under construction at once, in sheds that take hulls up to 65 m.
Origins
History & Ownership
Baglietto dates its heritage to 1854 and describes itself as the keeper of that history. In 2020 Cerri Cantieri Navali merged with Baglietto, a step led by chief executive Diego Michele Deprati, who has run the company since 2012.
Build philosophy
Engineering & Fleet DNA
Baglietto builds in different materials depending on the line. Its steel-hulled yachts, such as the T52 and the DOM115, carry aluminium superstructures, a common way to keep weight and topside height down on a displacement-style hull. The FAST50 is a semi-displacement yacht with an aluminium hull and superstructure, built for higher speed than the steel lines; it is about 50 m long. The T60 is powered by two Caterpillar engines and was designed for a 12-knot cruise. All yachts are built in Italy, in La Spezia and Carrara, and the La Spezia site has three covered sheds for hulls up to 65 m.
Ownership profile
Who Buys Baglietto S.p.A.
Baglietto suits owners who want a large Italian motor yacht of roughly 35 to 60 m, either as a long-range cruiser in steel and aluminium or as a faster aluminium yacht. The DOM line is positioned for repeat series builds, while the T-Line serves owners who want a larger, custom-feeling vessel. Its recent range points to private cruising rather than racing or expedition use.
